chocolate from heaven

we just had the best churros and chocolate ever. in the whole world. you dip the churros in cups of melted chocolate that tastes better than anything you can imagine ... after the churros were gone we just passed the cups around and drank straight chocolate, it was pretty much a melted candy bar.

estamos aqui ...

For those who know very little about Valencia, here are a few pictures from the past week. I'm living with Brittany Mackay, one of my best friends and roommates at home, and while our dorm room is veery leetle (I mean like one bed and triangular walls little) the city outside is big and beautiful. We live in the historic district with winding cobble stone streets and a cathedral ten feet from our front door. We're also walking distance from el mercado central, a market with fresh organic food, wine and homemade pastries.

no one says it better than Patty Griffin

"I've had some time to think about it
And watch the sun sink like a stone
I've had some time to think about you
On the long ride home."
- Patty Griffin

I know this song is actually about death and seems out of place on a blog about my travels in Europe, but taken out of context I thought these lines made sense. Although, I'm based out of Valencia, Spain for the next three and a half months, I plan to travel to many other countries while I'm here. Rather than a lot of little trips, I think this period of moving from place to place is more like one long ride back to where I started from. Things have been pretty non stop since I got here, but this page is for little moments when I have time to pause and think.
